One thing that I will surely miss in Taiwan is their authentic Taiwanese foods. Talking about foods, every corners and streets of Taiwan has a lot of delicious foods that will surely melt your heart. Night markets are absolutely packed with array of foods. They are cheap (NTD10 - NTD100) and gives lingering taste to tingle your taste buds!
I came by there just to confirm all of it! I have read a lot of blogs and even watched vlogs about it. Since this is my first out of the country experience, the heart of Asia left me nothing but an absolutely great experience. Of course, they have wide range of local and international food selections and like what I've said, they're definitely cheap.

Jiufen Old Street
Never ever forget to include this in your itinerary! Jiufen old street is known for its fantastic scenery, great international and local foods, breath of fresh air and even an old town atmosphere.
How to get there?
- From Taipei Main Station, ride a train to Zhongxia Fuxing Station (intersection of Brown and Blue MRT line).
- Take a Keelung Bus, remember the sign Jinguanshin or Bus 1062, that will definitely bring you to Juifen.
Quick tip: I highly suggest you to download offline maps as they are helpful specially if you're unfamiliar with the place. In our case, we explored Taiwan without buying any sim card or any pocket wifi, just a help of offline maps.

Shilin Night Market
Shilin is considered to be the most famous night market in the city of Taipei. It is one of the largest night market and is known for the most popular night life among tourist. Shilin offers a lot of traditional food with reasonable price. The locals are very friendly as they will surely give out their very best to let you taste their unique flavor.
How to get there?
- From Taipei Main Station, Take Taipei MRT-Danshui Line (捷運淡水線) to MRT Jiantan Station(捷運劍潭線).

Ximending Night Market
Ximending is known for its stalls for fashionable clothing and accessories embedded with the culture of Japan, Korea and even Western country. It may look like Shilin night market but Ximending is more urbanize as it resembles the busy street of Shibuya crossing in Tokyo and Time Square in New york. Compared with Shilin night market, Ximending gives you modern ambiance because of bright electronic billboards.
How to get there?
- From Taipei Main Station, Take Taipei MRT-Bannan Line (捷運板南線) to exit no. 6 of MRT Ximen Station (捷運西門站)
