Exploring the home of Bagnet - Ilocos Sur!

Quirino Bridge, Ilocos Sur
Let me tell you one fact, whenever I go travel with my friends, never will I planned all my travel destinations. I am a kind person that will always be open to expose myself to culture and diversity of each places in the Philippines. It's my first time here in Ilocos. We explored Ilocos Sur in just 1 day! A 7-hour travel time is indeed paid of with the views that you'll going to see and the food that Ilocos are proud of.

With my brother (Quirino Bridge, Ilocos)
Here are the list of destinations that you want to explore in Ilocos Sur. To tell you, each destination is just 10-20 minutes drive (depends on the traffic).
⧫⧫ Destinations in Ilocos Sur ⧫⧫
1. Quirino Bridge, Ilocos Sur
➽ This is a 456-meter bridge and is also called Banaoang Bridge as it's located in Barangay Banaoang, Santa, Ilocos Sur. This was named from the late former President Elpidio Quirino.

            What makes this bridge different?
⤘ Its strong foundation as it survives the World war and a
lot of typhoons passed by the Ilocos region.
⤘ The bridge connects two mountains that will give you
             refreshing and scenic view.

Don't yah worry, only few cars pass by here in this bridge, so it is safe to take a picture here.

Activities that you may do here:
  • Photo ops
  • Zip line (yes, they have! From one mountain to another mountain)
  • Reflect ( I guess with breathtaking view that this bridge will give you, baka mahanap mo pa ang sarili mo)

2. Baluarte ni Chavit Singson
➽ This is one of the most interactive zoo I've been to. I am glad that most of the animals here can freely move like ostrich, donkeys and horses. They have a lot of things to offer, besides, entrance fee is just for free! You can interact with animals while riding on a shuttle service which only costs PHP50.
At the top of the hill, you can see some parts of Ilocos region. In-front of this is the museum of Chavit Singson. The museum has a lot of preserved bodies of animals from polar bears, elephant, tiger, lion and even crocodiles.

3. Bantay Bell Church and Tower
➽ St. Augustine Parish Church commonly known as Bantay Church is located in Bantay, Ilocos Sur. This tower was the watchtower back from the Spanish colonial which later called as "Bantay" means "to guard".
4. Hidden Garden, Katipunan St, Vigan City, Ilocos Sur
➽ Like what I said, Ilocos has a lot of things to offer. We ate here at Hidden Garden. Just a 15-20 minute ride from Calle Crisologo. The famous Philippine sausage from Vigan and their famous bagnet made my Ilocos Sur tour complete.
Bagnet w/ egg and rice costs 180PHP
Longganisa w/ egg and rice costs 150PHP
P.S. I was not able to take a picture of bagnet and longganisa kasi gutom na kami, hehe

5. Calle Crisologo, Vigan
➽ The tour will not be complete without experiencing the culture brought by the Spanish before. Calle Crisologo survived a lot of man-made and natural calamities. Some of the families who own these treasure have undertake to maintain them.

Kalesa ride will costs you PHP150 to tour around Calle Crisologo

Yes, I got stains because of coffee!
